Kawa-kon 2014

Well Con season has one again begun for this year.  Looks like I won't be going to as many this year. I just didn't sign up for many and the ones I did sign up for I'm still waiting on conformation weather I made it in our not.
But that's not important for now as I had alt of fun at Kawa-kon yesterday. I finally went to the samurai Dan panel, wich was shockingly really entertaining. I assumed it was going to be a sword demo, however it turned out to be a really nice and very funny show. I do recommend it to anyone that goes to conventions and sees it on the schedule.

I also picked up a few items from the dealer's and artist alley while I was there.  Even got a few more magnets for the fridge as well as the Kaito kid figure I saw at Acen. But my greatest find was the volume of Yubisaki milk tea I was missing.

Well its been quite a while since my last post so I'll try and go over everything in order.  First was Kawa-kon in St. Louis, which was very fun. I sold some stuff and had a new layout I was trying. Ya know with the new bags n such. Was also trying to do caricatures there as well. Didn't take many pictures but I did get this one of a Serge from Crono Cross.

 Next I went to Anime STL. I didn't have a table this time so I just walked around and enjoyed the convention like a normal person.  I even walked aroud with Mari for a bit.  They had this cool BJD room with a few displays setup for pictures.  And I found some of my favorite characters to hold her for photos. Vadelle, Solo twins, and Daisy.  I was also able to play Weib Shwarz for the first time and I liked it alot!

 

 With Acen comig up I wanted to make sure I had some cool new buttons ready so I went ahead and made a full set of Gibli buttons. I know I said Ghibli but its pretty much just Hayao Miyazaki Characters.  I got Naussica, Kikis Delivery service, Porko Roso, Totoro, Howls Moving castle, Sprirted away, Prinsess Mononoke, and Ponyo on the clif by the sea. I also wanted to do some frome Arietty but didn't have enupf slots.

I also made some more buttons for the Misc. set. 10 Panty and Stocking buttons.  I'm really happy with how these turned out.  I was a real fan of the series and was just happy to make really cool buttons.

Now that brings us to Acen aka Awesome con.  I had alot of fun this year. Had a better setup for my artwork.  As well as Bushiroad had some Weib Shwarz demos.  So while I didnt make it to any demos I did get to play alot of different people at the con this year.Even found Mari a new Kimono as well as got her a pair of glasses from a good friend.  We drove the 5 hrs. in the ArtbyMike mobile and made it back with no problems.  All in all I have to say it was a great time.  Cant wait to do it again next year^^

Well thats all for now. Hopefully it wont be 3 months before my next post.  I will be going to Natsukon and I wanna make some Detective Conan and some Sonic buttons.  Anyhows later pyons!

Kawacon 2011 day 3

Well another con came and gone! I had alot of fun working it this weekend^^ Here is a pic of my stand, I tryed really hard not to buy anything since I got so much cool stuff from the swap meet. But I really needed a new walet so I got one of those. Anyway as always sunday was alittle slow and the closing ceremonies where lame but I made it home and slept the rest of the day off. enjoy pyon.

Kawacon 2011 day 2

Another awsome con day, Alot of cool stuff hapened. First of all Ol' B-man came by to hang out wich was great, I don't get to see him much. I also did some great artwork and sold alot of stuff at te booth. Lets not for get the swap meet! can we say Free Loot? this is all the cool Stuff I got just by trading old crap I had laying around the house. Garra gourd/bag, 2 figures. detective Conan dvd, 2 seasons of School Rumble, Random issue of Ichigo 100%, Evangelion 1.11 and more! It was all in all a great day even just the hangen out afterwards. Chris, Holly and I stoped off at the resturant in the hotel for some grub. Service was slow and all but we just wanted to relax anyhows. Next was the RAVE/techno dance witch as always was supper till sombody triped the fire alarm and we all had to pile out onto the street till the Firetrucks came. Witch pretty much killed it for me. But aferward I headed over to the Kareoke spot to sing my classic "A Man of Constant Sorrow". And last spent the rest of the nite in the common area chatting with some all nites about random crap. so yeah GREAT day TWO! later pyon

kawacon 2011 day 1

Another exciting con started today^^. I spent most of it at the artist table where i met some cool ppl and a couple i hadent seen in while stoped by. I bet your wondering what this fluffy thing is? Well its a sushi pillow, i won at the charity auction they had. all in all i had a great time, time for part two pyon!

School!

Well I tried but I couldn't do it I cant just watch one J-drama. Once I start I just cant seem to stop. Anyway I started this one last nite, its called School! Its really good! I centers around the principal of an elementary school. The catch however is the principal is new and was implimented do to some new clause that hires non teachers in those positions. Its pretty funny as you watch him interacting with the other teacher who dont believe he is suited for the job. I really like school based dramas and its been a while since I seen a primary school drama. It however doesnt have any stars that im familiar with. I just picked it after reading a fiew of the synopsis for this seasons dramas in the list on Dramawiki. Im glad to say I picked a good one ^^ Well thats all for now, Dont forget Kawacon is closing in fast make sure to visit me! pyon.

scifi art fun!

Went for another round of sketching at the scifi lounge today. It was a bit rainny when I left the house but When I got there I was still dry (thanks umbrella). Anyway the drawing was fun, There where 2 models there and Coyote even posed while we waited for the second model to arive. But when she got there they did a few dual poses. Next year cons....

Well sent my check for Anime STL today^^ so if it goes through all ok I will be set for that and Kawa. Tried to get into Naka-kon this year but i hasnt heared back from them yet. I also tried to get a table for Acen but that crazy thing I couldnt log onto the site at the appointed time and when I could 2hrs later it was full. However if im lucky I may still get in but I pretty much dought it :( Imas try for Akon next but who knows when thattle open up :/ but meh, I will also try for Motaku and Natsukon when they open up of course, lets not forget A2F this spring and Fall. Mabee even Nabraskon if I can make it in^^. And Colin got the call back to DuQuoin State fair not a con but good for buisness, were gunna try to get into Springfields State fair as well but we dont know if they has caricature artists already.lol anyway todays totally awsome cosplay chick is Vanelle from FF13
