Spring Anime 2022

Time for another anime list. These are the spring 2022 anime I watched till the end this season. Won't include any old stuff I watched for the first time on streaming and just stick to the new goodies. First is of course Spy X Family. Probably in line to be one of the best anime this year. The cast of characters where great and the balance of home and school life was well paced. I would have like it to be a 26 ep show so we can get more of Anyas school stuff. However, I am still pleased with how it all went down. If you're a fan of slice of life anime with action elements, I'd say it's a good bet you will like this one too.

Next is Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san, this one is purely slice of life and I love it. I think it might be a manga as well and I may have to look for it. But the story follows the title character and her clutz of a boyfriend. She pretty much spends most of each episode protecting him from whatever danger his incredibly bad luck sends his way. Mostly played to lighthearted I found every episode light and fun. Some of the side characters were also interesting to watch and made the whole series great. I recommend this if you like slice of life where the main couple isn't stressing over whether they should get together or not because they are already together when the story begins.

Another great show was Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu. I was skeptical at first when watching the trailer for this anime. I was sure the MC being armored up the whole time would mean excessive CGI. I was pleased however when the anime started that they kept it pretty tame and mostly just the action scenes had any noticeable CGI work. The show follows a man that was isekaid to another world as the avatar for whatever video game he was playing. Similar to Ains in Overlord he is a skeleton character, however this guy is just your average OP adventurer. He fairly quickly runs into a bust elf chick whom he then helps on whatever quest she is doing for the rest of the series. While I may have liked a more layed back story where the MC just does different quests all day, this was actually good itself in its own way. It's another Isekai but if you're not sick of them yet I recommend this one.

It's time to talk about Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari Season 2, just like the first season this was really good. It started with a pretty cool giant monster battle. That ended with the MC isekaing himself. I don't know how to talk about it without giving too much away. But if you liked the first season you are sure to like this as well.

So, I thought I would get to all of them at once this time, but it looks like I'm ready to finish this post for now. If you have the time, I recommend anyone who has liked any of the shows I have previously recommended watch these. I am sure we have simal tastes by now and you will enjoy these. I will try and finish the list with my next post, but no promises. I do also still have the next bookworm chapter to translate.

Anyways Enjoy~pyons

Winter Anime 2022 part4 The Last

 Last one I promise.

Sarting with "Shenmue the Animation". This show is pretty great. Its only 9 episodes in so far but it looks like it will cover all of the first 2 games. I had first wondered if they were going to cover the lost chapter when Hazuki was on the boat going to China that was left out of the second game. I also felt the rushed through the events of the first game fairly quickly. However, I did enjoy the things they did include in the story so far.

I have played this game a lot over the years. I am so happy that it has finally made it as an anime. I would of course love it if they finished the game series as well, but this is fine too. The Winter anime website has it listed as a 13-episode series which should end it right where the second Game ends.

Another fairly good anime is "Shikkakumon no Saikyou Kenja". It's actually a fantasy series even though it has some isekai tropes in it. You follow the MC as he uses a powerful reincarnation technique in order to acquire greater skills in his next life. He awakens almost 1000 yrs. later and demons have convinced humans that the best skills are the worst skills in order to take over.  The MC uses his vast knowledge from his previous life to set current day humans on the path to become better mages.

It does of course have all the usual tropes. Harem, school life, etc. Actually, it's a lot like "Tatoeba Last Dungeon Mae no Mura no Shounen ga Joban no Machi de Kurasu Youna Monogatar" the main girl even reminds me of the belt goddess from the other series. Anyway, they are both good so it's fine.

I'll end my winter anime rant with "Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki Part 2". This anime follows a summoned MC who is tasked with becoming the king. He quickly uses his rational and advanced knowledge to help save the kingdom. Another harem Isekai, but I'm sure by now you know those are some of my favorites. This particular anime however starts both slow and uneventful. It actually takes a few episodes before the things he does start to make any headway in saving the kingdom.

I do however like a lot of the Harem candidates in this show. and in this type of thing that's all that really matters anyway. So, if you're not sic of isekai yet I recommend watching this. At least give it a few more episodes than you might normally give something before dropping it entirely.

Well, I don't really have much more to talk about anime from this season. Of course, I was keeping up with my Conan episodes. I did feel like they had a lot less episodes this season. I know when they start getting to close to the manga they have to slow down on the anime releases. Since they stopped doing filler about 10 years ago. It does look like they will be airing the Zero/Burbon spin off series during the spring. I wonder if that is considered its own thing or will they use it to fill Conan time slots like they have been with the police Acadamy arc.

Winter Anime 2022 part3

 Another day another anime rant.

I'll start today with "Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen" not really much to say about it though. Its Demon Slayer, It's good, what else can you say about it?

Well anyway the new Entertainment District arc was pretty great. However, I did feel that they were kind of stretching it a bit. If you look back to the first season even though they didn't spend much Time on each arc, you still felt like you learned a bit about most of the side characters. This arc however felt rushed at the beginning when meeting the new people as well as time spent at each of the houses. Then they went into this fight that had almost DBZ levels of length.

All that being said. Nezuko still showed up and was awesome. The side characters where awesome. The twist with the main baddie was awesome.

Just watch it okay....

Next is "Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon" and while technically the season was during Fall 2021, they did have an OVA in January. Just a single episode special about the girl Kanna meet in New York.

I'd say it was fairly good. If you've seen the regular series than you kind of know what to expect with this. More slice of life Dragon maid randomness.

Last for today is the second season of "Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou". Following right after the events of season one you join the gang on more adventures. Getting the mermaid girl home, exploring volcanos, etc. Because its a continuation there is not much to talk about. If you watched the first season you should know what to expect. They did have a lot more scenes with the kids from his class.

This is something that will definitely get another season. Don't know why they would stop now.

Winter Anime 2022 part 2

Ok so I wasn't sure I would actually do more of this series, hence the ? after part 1.

We'll start today with "Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to" which honestly I didn't know at first if I wanted to watch this. I am however glad I stuck with it till the end. The series follows 2 office workers as they are leaving from another late Nite at work. When in the part talking they are summoned to another world by a goddess who whishes for them to help save her world. However the goddess takes one the men's crazy drunk ramblings and turns him into a beautiful girl. So beautiful in fact that he cant walk around town without every man falling in love with him. The goddess also curses the 2 into falling in love with each other as she fells slighted by the way they treat her when they first meet.

Regardless of the interesting premise the show starts off fairly tame. Even the fact that the 2 MCs are supposed to be infatuated with each other doesn't come up too much. Also, the fact that it's a typical Iseki with OP MCs they don't really fight big battles all that much. Its more of a slice of life fantasy than battle anime.

All in all I enjoyed watching it. Doesn't really seem like a show that would get a second season right away but who knows.

Next is "Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu" which I felt was quite fun. The story revolves around a young prince in charge of a small kingdom, and he is trying everything he can to keep it afloat. Fairly simple premise but makes for interesting content. Its not and Isekai or anything so its just a standard Fantasy story. The different kingdoms and diplomacy settings make it verry interesting. Usually in these types of story's you might see a lot of the town or city the MC lives or maybe just the neighboring kingdom they may be at war with.

This show did have my favorite loli of the season with the MCs sister. I really hope we get a figure or two of her to ad to my collection. That kind of stuff usually starts showing up for pre-order while the show is still airing so we shall see what happens later. But I will be checking Amiami regularly for any updates.

The final show for today will be "Leadale no Daichi nite" another interesting show to say the least. Like "Kenja no Deshi wo Nanoru Kenja" this follows a MC who is trapped in the world that resembles a VRMMO hey were playing and is living the life of the character the once played as. It even has a time skip this one being 200 years that doesn't really matter as far as the story is concerned. While I did enjoy watching the show it is quite slow in its storytelling. Really nothing much happens as the MC is OP and just wanders around looking for these hero towers and tuns them on. She does run into quite a few other players that are also trapped. As well as the NPCs she had adopted as her children while playing the game.

I don't really have much to say about it really. Just that it was a fun and rather predictable Isekai style story. The MC being a girl also makes it interesting in the kinds of things that happen in the story itself. I'm sure I don't have to go into much detail as in the differences in how a show is done when the MCs are either male or female. So I'm sure you all get it.

Anyway that's it for today. Obviously I'm only going into shows I completed so of course I would recommend them. Also I don't think any of todays shows had much Fan service to watch out for. Fairly tame in that regard. Even "Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to" while the MC was supposed to be a supper cute girl, it was still a man in a girls body and his insecurities about showing his legs made him wear tights the whole time.

Winter Anime 2022 part1?

Haven't reviewed anime in a while but I got some free time lately so why not.  Winter 2022 is drawing to a close, and I find now is a good time to start talking about all the great anime I watched before I get caught up in the new stuff.

I'll begin with "Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru" which was a Suprise for me. It's been a long time since I kept up to date on what is coming out in what season. So, when this show popped into my feed, I was immediately drawn to the wonderful art style. Also, after reading a brief summary of the show, I decided this was something I wanted to watch. The story follows a lonely boy who spends all his free time learning how to paint faces on Hina dolls. One day after his home sewing machine breaks, he decided to use the school's machine. There he meets Kitagawa, one of the popular girls in his class. She turns out to be a crazy anime otaku and wants his help in making herself look like her favorite anime character, with cosplay. From there they grow a great relationship as he learns to make costumes for people, and she gets to live her dream of being a cosplayer.

It kind of reminded me of "2.5D" which is a girl who only cosplays her favorite character and an Otaku who is in love with 2d or anime girls only. Not to say the show follows the same route, but they both heavily showcase the life of cosplayers and that alone is interesting to me. Sono Bisque was a great heartwarming slow passed comedy. I was afraid they were going to use the cliche themes. At the beginning you find the boy has some trauma from a girl his age thinking his interest in Hina dolls is strange. I was half expecting that little girl to show up halfway through the show and try to sabotage his relationship with Kitagawa. Luckly that never happened, which I found quite satisfying.

All in all, it had a great ended that could end the series or open it up for future seasons. I believe it was well received so I don't doubt another is in the works.

Next is "Akebi-chan no Sailor-fuku" another show by Cloverworks who also did "Sono Bisque" this season.  I had previously read a little of the manga before watching this.  I was impressed by artists art style. However, I could not get too far into the story. It is a very slow slice of life drama about a girl who enters middle school. She wishes to join the same school her mother had previously attended because she had fallen in love with the sailor uniform of that school. Yet without her knowing it the school had changed from sailor suit to blazers. Luckly however the school allowed her to continue to wear the sailor suit because it had been a uniform the school had used in the past.

So, while the manga is well drawn and there are some great pages, I just could not sit through it. The anime however fixes this by just being animated. They still keep a lot of the really great scenes from the manga but the voice acting and fluid animation make it very exciting to watch.

It is still slice of life, so nothing other than girls living happens. But if that is what you lie to watch then you will enjoy this series. It does hit a lot of the standard school episode points and Akebi is a very interesting character to watch.

The last anime I'll mention today is "Kenja no Deshi wo Nanoru Kenja" and something I had been looking forward to for some time. I have a friend that occasionally lets me know when something I might like is coming. This was no exception. I had been ready the manga for quite a few years before he mentioned it, and The English adaption also just recently released which of course I also purchased.

This is your usual Isekai style anime, where mc gets transported to vrmmorpg that they have been playing as OP hero. In most shows of this type the mc takes on the avatar they had been playing in the game. This time however the mc fell asleep while playing with the character creation tool so when he woke up in that world Instead of Dunblaf an old Gandalf style summoner. He emerges as a little girl he names Mira. He does retain all of Dunblafs skills so the OP hero trope remains.

The show does try to create high stakes with its incoming war back story. But for the most part nothing of much consequence happens. Its mostly just Mira wandering this Vrmmo world turned real and showing the people just how cool summon magic is. Actually is she didn't keep going back to the king and be constantly reminded of what may happen, you might forget about the war entirely. But that's part of the charm.

Well, that's all for now. Don't know how reviewee these where but I really like all these shows. They are mostly slice of life shows so if that's your cup of tea I highly recommend all 3 of them. "Sono Bisque" does have a lot of fan service so if your not into that kind of stuff you may want to skip that one.

Sad day for Baseball Fans...

So I didn't want to talk about this last week but I'm sure most of you anime watchers know Ace of Diamonds ended its run. Oh and what a run it was too. I'm sure you've read my earlier posts about how much I love baseball anime. This one was by far one of the best. With a clear focus on just the players and how the interact, little love side storys and filer in this anime. Just Hard anime Action!

So I guess I'll go over it a bit for the people who haven't had the privilege of watching it. It follows the first year of pitcher Sawamura as he is drafted from his weak middle school team for his unigue "wild" pitch. He enters the field with high hopes of becoming the next Ace but soon finds the great team of Seido High has many a chalengers.  It then moves on to a nice training anime where Sawamura pretty much sits out of the Spring tournament to just "get better". It pays off too because by the time Summer tounament starts Sawamura has earned himself a spot on the main team number 20! He become one of 4 of Seidos pitchers which becomes their great strength as they can swich pitchers at the fly to counter any type of player.

I dont want to spoil the whole show but it's a very exciting baseball anime with little of the love stuff. The love stuff isn't bad per say but sometimes you just want to watch baseball "am I right?"

While this is a great anime that anyone who says the like baseball/anime should watch, I think anyone can really get into this with its great players and background stories.

Please Watch! Diamond no Ace!

NO GAME!

Greetings fellow watchers of anime, Just finished the last episode of No Game No Life.  It was spectacular.  This is a show I definitely recommend to everyone.  I was drawn in with the cool style and loli main, but stayed for the awesome story and battles.  If you don't know what it is yet, the story starts as 2 gamers are thought of as the ultimate team as the have never been beaten in an online game ever. Everything changes for them as they are sucked into a world where games are the ultimate currency as all deals and squabbles are settled with games.

I really enjoyed it like Death Note and Bakuman where instead of super stylized fight scenes all the battles where battles of wits.  No punching and kicking with super special moves in this show. Just lots of interesting mind games with old favorites like jan ken, and chess.

Looks like they are going to do another season maybe next year soI can't wait for that as well. Or they may finish it off in movies like Eden of the East. Whatever they decide ill be excited to see what happens next.

anyway enough from me go find your favorite streaming or anime downloading site and watch this incredible anime.

Winter 2014

Ok well now I guess I should Start posting about all of this seasons shows.  I'll Start with Log Horizon which was actually a carryover from last season but somehow I forgot about it. Maybe I was hoping it would be a long running series like Naruto? Anyway It just ended and Was it ever amazing! It follows the same sub plot as SAO where people are stuck in a game. however there are allot of differences. One being the game their stuck in was actually a regular MMO like we play today where you just control an avatar with your PC. So they did allot of cool things at the beginning where the characters had to get used to doing all there techniques by instinct instead of filtering through menus.

I'm not going to go into a long boring summery of the whole season I'll just go into what I liked about it.  First of all It did a great job with keeping me interested with more then just battle scenes as we learned about the lore of the world ans well as the NPCs that live on the land.  At first I wasn't really into the show as much as some of my other friends, but when they switched from fighting to espionage and battle strategies I was hooked. There is allot in this Anime for people who are looking for more than just random battles.

Next up Is SAKI, which is actually in its second/ third season. I only say it like that because the second season followed a random group of players as they went through the Mahjong world.  But this season follows the main group again as the make it to Tokyo for the High School team Tournaments.  You know me a sucker for random sports anime, and this is it + cute lolis to look at.  Because it follows the female circuit all the teams are made up of all girl groups from around Japan.  It also makes Mahjong seem like a really fun game to play. I'm sure real people don't have the random powers the girls in this show have, but its still really cool to watch.
As for shows that aired this season I'll start with Wake Up, Girls! or WUG! This is a really great anime made by the same people that did The Idolm@ster. It follows 7 girls as they become Idols in some random small town. Best part the show is based on an actual Idol group with the same name. Now I'm sure the stuff they go through in the anime is not what they went through in real life to become Idols. However the show is good on its own.  It actually started as a Movie that Aired last year and showed the girls getting together. I watched that after seeing the first episode and was pleased with the result. In short its a great music themed anime for people who where fond of the Idolm@ster and Love Live animes.
Not much to say about this next anime Sakura Trick. Its mainly about two girls who go to a school that will be closing in 3 yrs. so there will be no new freshmen after them. So they decide to make their own memories in the school by pretty much making out every where they can, and any chance they get. While its practically just a fan service anime some of the side characters and random running gags are pretty fun.
Another show was Engaged to the Undefined.  Its mainly about a girl who was saved by a boy when she was younger and somehow is now expected to marry him.  The show pics up as they are starting freshman year in high school. This show has allot of really funny characters that I like. While Sakura trick was complete service, this anime had allot more of the other stuff going for it. Specialty the standard loli character was really and got allot of screen time in this anime as she was the main driving force of the engagement. Again really good series and I'd recommend it to anyone.
They last show I watched this season it Recently, my Sister is Unusual. This very fan service heavy anime is about a girl who gets possessed by an angel and is gifted with a chastity belt.  Again not much to say about this anime as its purely service, as the girl and the angel make out allot as well. Again has its funny bits but really just service.

Honorable Mentions:
Now as that was pretty much all I watched this season not including the carryovers I did start a few shows I may go back too after they finish. Those are Zveta, Plot; Wizard Barristers; Super Sonico; Nisekoi; and D-Frag, except I may skip that last one all together. Anyway watch these shows when you got time! Enjoy pyons!

Current Long running or carry over Anime Series! 2014

Hey guys I know I said I was gunna do this earlier but I've finally gotten down to it. Well I know I was gunna post individually about all the current shows I've been into this season but I think I'll just make another big post of all the current long running and carry over shows from last season.

First off is my all time favorite show Detective Conan. Yes im sure everyone already knows I love this show and is wondering why I would bother to past about it. Well theirs good news another sub team has picked it up and I can now continue watching my favorie show.  Check it out if you got time, comes Highly recomended by me.
Another show I've been Watching for a few years now is HunterXHunter. I'm sure a few of you has heard me talk about this show from time to time. Its a really great series that actually started back in the 90s as a manga.  They also started its own series back then as well, however the origional manga creater got sick so much they had to cancel the series.  When I heard they where picking it back up back in 2011 i was verry excited. Actually I assumed the where just going to start from where they had left off before. Well to my suprise they desided to start from the begining. At first I was not to thrilled as I had just watched the entire thing a few years back.  But after the first episode wich showed new advanced art and faster passed storytelling I didnt have a problem with the new adaptation.

The story follows Gon Freecs as he travels the world looking for his father. To do so he must first become a Hunter wich is a world renound adventurer of sorts that has access to alot of thing normal people dont.  On his jorney he meets his new best friend Killua, who happens to be a member of a family of assasins. He also meets two others, Leorio and Kurapika. They all become greak friends and pass the hunter exam together.

Afterward they go on various adventures looking for Gons father, wont spoil it too much but I do really enjoy the series. I would probably still be reading it as well if the release of each issue wasn't so inconsistent.
Another long running series is Space Brothers.  Now unfortunately I didn't actually start this show till this year, but it does have nearly 100 episodes which puts its start date maybe a season or two after HunterXHunter.  I do really enjoy it though.

It follows two brothers who want to land on the moon. The main Character Muta is a car salesman who is fired from his job for headbutting his boss who made fun of his astronaut brother. Which brings us to Hibito, Mutas younger brother and Japaneese astronaut in line to be the first Japaneese man on the moon.  After Muta gets fiered his brother sighns him up for the upcomming astronaut exam. This story really goes through alot of what it takes to be an astronaut in our time. Using alot of the same stuff people go through now to become Astronauts.

Anyways another good watch.
Now for shows That only just started last season and may be only 2 seasons long. First is Golden time. I didnt start watching this right away but I did grow to like it. It follow Tata Banri as he starts his first year of Colege. However after High School Graduation 2 yrs. ago he got in a car accident and lost his memory. It mainly follows this girl who is obsest with this guy Tata befrends on his first day at School.  Its mainly about how Tata Banri reacts as some of his memorys come floding back. Specially when he runs into an old classmate that he cant remember but then sudenly starts to realize he had strong fealings for back in HighSchool.

This show is pretty good, not the usually action anime but it is a nice change of pace.
Another great show is Nagi no Asakura. This is very interesting as it follows for school mates who actually happen to live in the sea. It starts as the 4 friends are the only high schoolers left at their small school and are transfered to the school on the surface. It starts a pretty melow drama about school life and boy likes girl who likes other girl etc. But half was theres a time skip but some of the friends are cought in a rift that makes them not age. Very interesting. Not much to say about this without giving alot away so I recomend watch and enjoy!
Now for some sports action! This is Yawa Pedal wich fallows an otaku who loves bike riding. He starts his first year in High school looking to join the anime club, but with no members and no one to join he gets asked to join the Bicicle club because of his skill in riding up hills.  Well after joining he soon learns the ins and outs of bike racing.

This anime is verry fun and I recomend it for people who like those random sports animes but are already watching too many baseball and tennis shows.
Last but definately not least is Ace of Diamonds. Another great Baseball anime to ad to the list of great baseball animes. I go to much into it as it really speaks for itself. I mean really why are baseball animes so good anyways? This follows the team itself more then just the picher and catcher combo of most shows. The main character is a picher though so theres that. Cant really explain it but I love Baseball anime. Watch and Enjoy pyons!

Anime 2013

So while I've been playing allot more card games I've also been watching allot of anime this past year.  Know I should of been posting about them every season but I'll just go ahead and make a general post about my favorite shows of 2013 be for I start doing season specific shows for this year.

So the first should is probably my favorite show of the whole season. "The Hentai Prince and the Stony Cat" aka. Henneko.  I was really happy with the general flow of the show itself.

Its about a girl who gives up her emotions when making a wish to a stone cat, and follows her exploits as she try's to win the love of the Main character who made a wish to the same cat years earlier that all his memories would go to someone else. It is really funny and I like allot of the characters in this show, which makes it an easy watch. I definitely recomend this to anyone who likes anime.

Next comes "Psycho-Pass", This show was really good.  While its not my second favorite of the year it is one of the first shows of the year that help jump start my watching anime.  I had almost given up on finding anything none Moe to like.

Its about a future world where everyone is judged on there psyche. So if you get to stressed out or start having impure thoughts you could end up in "jail". The main character is a girl who joins the police force who you learn pretty early on has a really stable psyche.  So she joins the force and has do deal with all the crazy things that go with that world. I don't really want to give to much away. Just know this comes highly recommended by me.

Now for my second favorite show of the year, "Kyokai no Kanata" aka. "Beyond the Boundary".  I really fell in love with this show. Its not just the fact that the main character looks allot like my doll Mari.  But al in all its a really great show.

It follows the story of a girl who is cursed with a rare blood line and her family is basically wiped out, they also happen to be really great spirit hunters.  It starts with the main dude getting stabbed by Mirai and you later learn he is a immortal shade.  It just has allot of really good action elements as well as drama elements.  Plus the lead male has a Glasses fetish which really makes the show interesting for someone like me who also has a glasses fetish. They just show allot of great shots of Mirai from his perspective. Anyways Very Very good!

Another show I really liked last year was "My Youth Romantic Comedy is wrong as I expected" aka. Romcom Snafu. This shows main focus was how dry the main characters personality is.  It was really just a show of wondering what he would say next in what ever situation they put him in. I don't really have much to say about this show other then watch and you will like.

Another show I wasn't expecting on liking was "Galilei Donna". I was afraid it was going to turn into one of those random loli, moe shows with no plot.  But as the show went on I found my self really excited about the next episode. So as its def. not at the top of my list I will say I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. So watch if you have time.

And last is another show I really liked "Outbreak Company".  I was really excited about this show as soon as I read about it.

It follows a graduated Hikikomori as he answers a ad for a job that just asks a bunch of questions about anime. When he gets the job they knock him out and he wakes up in a new world. It turns out they found a worm hole in Japan that leads to an alternate dimension with elves and magic and all that cool stuff.  But the Japanese decide to invade with culture instead of violence and choose him as there resident anime expert. All in all a great show and you should watch it!

Well that was the shows I liked from last year. I'll start posting shows i'm watching per season soon.
