Winter Anime 2022 part3

 Another day another anime rant.

I'll start today with "Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen" not really much to say about it though. Its Demon Slayer, It's good, what else can you say about it?

Well anyway the new Entertainment District arc was pretty great. However, I did feel that they were kind of stretching it a bit. If you look back to the first season even though they didn't spend much Time on each arc, you still felt like you learned a bit about most of the side characters. This arc however felt rushed at the beginning when meeting the new people as well as time spent at each of the houses. Then they went into this fight that had almost DBZ levels of length.

All that being said. Nezuko still showed up and was awesome. The side characters where awesome. The twist with the main baddie was awesome.

Just watch it okay....

Next is "Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon" and while technically the season was during Fall 2021, they did have an OVA in January. Just a single episode special about the girl Kanna meet in New York.

I'd say it was fairly good. If you've seen the regular series than you kind of know what to expect with this. More slice of life Dragon maid randomness.

Last for today is the second season of "Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou". Following right after the events of season one you join the gang on more adventures. Getting the mermaid girl home, exploring volcanos, etc. Because its a continuation there is not much to talk about. If you watched the first season you should know what to expect. They did have a lot more scenes with the kids from his class.

This is something that will definitely get another season. Don't know why they would stop now.

Winter Anime 2022 part 2

Ok so I wasn't sure I would actually do more of this series, hence the ? after part 1.

We'll start today with "Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to" which honestly I didn't know at first if I wanted to watch this. I am however glad I stuck with it till the end. The series follows 2 office workers as they are leaving from another late Nite at work. When in the part talking they are summoned to another world by a goddess who whishes for them to help save her world. However the goddess takes one the men's crazy drunk ramblings and turns him into a beautiful girl. So beautiful in fact that he cant walk around town without every man falling in love with him. The goddess also curses the 2 into falling in love with each other as she fells slighted by the way they treat her when they first meet.

Regardless of the interesting premise the show starts off fairly tame. Even the fact that the 2 MCs are supposed to be infatuated with each other doesn't come up too much. Also, the fact that it's a typical Iseki with OP MCs they don't really fight big battles all that much. Its more of a slice of life fantasy than battle anime.

All in all I enjoyed watching it. Doesn't really seem like a show that would get a second season right away but who knows.

Next is "Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu" which I felt was quite fun. The story revolves around a young prince in charge of a small kingdom, and he is trying everything he can to keep it afloat. Fairly simple premise but makes for interesting content. Its not and Isekai or anything so its just a standard Fantasy story. The different kingdoms and diplomacy settings make it verry interesting. Usually in these types of story's you might see a lot of the town or city the MC lives or maybe just the neighboring kingdom they may be at war with.

This show did have my favorite loli of the season with the MCs sister. I really hope we get a figure or two of her to ad to my collection. That kind of stuff usually starts showing up for pre-order while the show is still airing so we shall see what happens later. But I will be checking Amiami regularly for any updates.

The final show for today will be "Leadale no Daichi nite" another interesting show to say the least. Like "Kenja no Deshi wo Nanoru Kenja" this follows a MC who is trapped in the world that resembles a VRMMO hey were playing and is living the life of the character the once played as. It even has a time skip this one being 200 years that doesn't really matter as far as the story is concerned. While I did enjoy watching the show it is quite slow in its storytelling. Really nothing much happens as the MC is OP and just wanders around looking for these hero towers and tuns them on. She does run into quite a few other players that are also trapped. As well as the NPCs she had adopted as her children while playing the game.

I don't really have much to say about it really. Just that it was a fun and rather predictable Isekai style story. The MC being a girl also makes it interesting in the kinds of things that happen in the story itself. I'm sure I don't have to go into much detail as in the differences in how a show is done when the MCs are either male or female. So I'm sure you all get it.

Anyway that's it for today. Obviously I'm only going into shows I completed so of course I would recommend them. Also I don't think any of todays shows had much Fan service to watch out for. Fairly tame in that regard. Even "Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to" while the MC was supposed to be a supper cute girl, it was still a man in a girls body and his insecurities about showing his legs made him wear tights the whole time.

Winter Anime 2022 part1?

Haven't reviewed anime in a while but I got some free time lately so why not.  Winter 2022 is drawing to a close, and I find now is a good time to start talking about all the great anime I watched before I get caught up in the new stuff.

I'll begin with "Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru" which was a Suprise for me. It's been a long time since I kept up to date on what is coming out in what season. So, when this show popped into my feed, I was immediately drawn to the wonderful art style. Also, after reading a brief summary of the show, I decided this was something I wanted to watch. The story follows a lonely boy who spends all his free time learning how to paint faces on Hina dolls. One day after his home sewing machine breaks, he decided to use the school's machine. There he meets Kitagawa, one of the popular girls in his class. She turns out to be a crazy anime otaku and wants his help in making herself look like her favorite anime character, with cosplay. From there they grow a great relationship as he learns to make costumes for people, and she gets to live her dream of being a cosplayer.

It kind of reminded me of "2.5D" which is a girl who only cosplays her favorite character and an Otaku who is in love with 2d or anime girls only. Not to say the show follows the same route, but they both heavily showcase the life of cosplayers and that alone is interesting to me. Sono Bisque was a great heartwarming slow passed comedy. I was afraid they were going to use the cliche themes. At the beginning you find the boy has some trauma from a girl his age thinking his interest in Hina dolls is strange. I was half expecting that little girl to show up halfway through the show and try to sabotage his relationship with Kitagawa. Luckly that never happened, which I found quite satisfying.

All in all, it had a great ended that could end the series or open it up for future seasons. I believe it was well received so I don't doubt another is in the works.

Next is "Akebi-chan no Sailor-fuku" another show by Cloverworks who also did "Sono Bisque" this season.  I had previously read a little of the manga before watching this.  I was impressed by artists art style. However, I could not get too far into the story. It is a very slow slice of life drama about a girl who enters middle school. She wishes to join the same school her mother had previously attended because she had fallen in love with the sailor uniform of that school. Yet without her knowing it the school had changed from sailor suit to blazers. Luckly however the school allowed her to continue to wear the sailor suit because it had been a uniform the school had used in the past.

So, while the manga is well drawn and there are some great pages, I just could not sit through it. The anime however fixes this by just being animated. They still keep a lot of the really great scenes from the manga but the voice acting and fluid animation make it very exciting to watch.

It is still slice of life, so nothing other than girls living happens. But if that is what you lie to watch then you will enjoy this series. It does hit a lot of the standard school episode points and Akebi is a very interesting character to watch.

The last anime I'll mention today is "Kenja no Deshi wo Nanoru Kenja" and something I had been looking forward to for some time. I have a friend that occasionally lets me know when something I might like is coming. This was no exception. I had been ready the manga for quite a few years before he mentioned it, and The English adaption also just recently released which of course I also purchased.

This is your usual Isekai style anime, where mc gets transported to vrmmorpg that they have been playing as OP hero. In most shows of this type the mc takes on the avatar they had been playing in the game. This time however the mc fell asleep while playing with the character creation tool so when he woke up in that world Instead of Dunblaf an old Gandalf style summoner. He emerges as a little girl he names Mira. He does retain all of Dunblafs skills so the OP hero trope remains.

The show does try to create high stakes with its incoming war back story. But for the most part nothing of much consequence happens. Its mostly just Mira wandering this Vrmmo world turned real and showing the people just how cool summon magic is. Actually is she didn't keep going back to the king and be constantly reminded of what may happen, you might forget about the war entirely. But that's part of the charm.

Well, that's all for now. Don't know how reviewee these where but I really like all these shows. They are mostly slice of life shows so if that's your cup of tea I highly recommend all 3 of them. "Sono Bisque" does have a lot of fan service so if your not into that kind of stuff you may want to skip that one.
